The Importance Of Tracking

As many of you know, I only set up this blog recently. Four years of
success, failure and testing. This allows me to offer some advice to anyone
starting out that I wish I had when I was starting out in the online
business world. Today, I am going to discuss one of the MAJOR things I wish
I had have paid attention to sooner. Site tracking and analysis.

When you set up a website for the first time, it's always one of the last
things you bother to take care of or put in place.
Visitor tracking, no matter what your business is EXTREMELY important. It's
always forgotten in the flood of excitement of finishing your site and
launching it. You have worked hard on your site, your content, your design
and your features. It's your baby and you want to let it fly. That's great.
If, like me, you experiment, you just want to test the waters and see if you
get any revenue from adsense, or make a sale (Or affiliate sale).

So now, here you are 2 (Or more) months later and your site is starting to
take off. You are starting to generate a few dollars from your website.
Great! Now it's time to improve the flow, usability and find out what your
visitors are actually looking for.

But wait. How do you find this out?

You can first look into your hosts Webalizer or awstats statistics, but in
fairness, while they are great for checking referrers and traffic stats,
they don't drill down to the nitty gritty. You realize now that you should
have put something in place when you first started.

Enter Google Analytics (Formerly Urchin). Google Analytics is an advanced
and FREE visitor tracking service. Most of you have probably heard of it
already. Google Analytics allows you to track your visitors and their
behavior down to the most detailed level. Covering the features of Google
Analytics is far beyond the scope of this document, but sign up and play
around for yourself. Google Analytics is also SUPER easy to set up. All you
need to do is past a few lines of JavaScript into your sites HTML.

Once you have Google Analytics set up, the rest is taken care of by Google.
You don't have to worry about a thing.

Now, assuming you have taken my advice (Which I assure you in this case is
100% good) you have two (Or more) months of tracking information available
to you. Are you visitors coming and searching for something on your site? If
so, should it be made available on the main page? Why make them search? Are
your visitors coming to your site looking for content that you do not
actually have? Maybe you should create it? The list goes on..

You will be surprised at some of the search terms your site is found under.
Some will make you laugh and some are even pretty upsetting terms that you
DO NOT want to be found under!

So there you have it. If you set up your analytics and tracking early on, it
makes it ten times easier to improve your site and grow your business
earlier and start making more money earlier.
I have used many different tracking services and it all boiled down to me
using my default server stats programs and Google analytics. Experiment a
little and find out what works for you.

I hope this article has given you enough reason to invest an additional five
minutes setting up some sort of tracking for your website before you go
"live". Your five minute investment can make the world of difference months
down the line.

How To Succeed With Affiliate Marketing

If you are looking into affiliate marketing you might wonder what the
difference is between those that succeed and those that do not. As you surf
information on the Internet you'll read many success stories but you'll also
come across stories of failure and even warnings that tell you that
affiliate marketing just doesn't seem to work well. It doesn't matter who
you are, you can succeed with affiliate marketing if you really put your
mind to it. Don't be scared of the stories of failure, if affiliate
marketing didn't take some work everyone would be doing it and making a lot
of money, too!

Set Yourself Up For Success
Succeeding with affiliate marketing isn't about setting up your affiliate
system or becoming an affiliate for another merchant, there is much more to
it than that. First, you should learn what affiliate marketing is all about.
You will find a wealth of information all over the Internet as well as
plenty of resources in your local bookstore. If there is anything about the
business that you do not understand you should seek the answers before you
get in over your head. Knowing all about affiliate marketing, including all
the ins and outs, and feeling confident in your knowledge will truly allow
you to set yourself up for success.

Create a Plan
After you have learned everything you need to learn about affiliate
marketing to get started you will want to put together a plan for your
success. This can be a day to day plan if that is how you work best or it
can simply be monthly or even quarterly goals. These can be monetary goals
or they can relate to how many affiliate accounts that you have if you are a
merchant or how many affiliate companies you are aligned with if you are not
a merchant. Setting goals and creating a plan is simply a good idea because
it gives you something to look forward to and something to keep aiming for.
If you don't have a plan or goals you can put things off and that can take
away from your level of success in the end.

Tap into Your Determination
When you create a plan you will really have to tap into your determination.
You shouldn't just set goals that you can reach easily, you should create
goals for yourself that will require you to push and really try hard. Goals
such as this will allow you to maximize your earning potential through
affiliate marketing but it will also require you to tap into your
determination. If you are not determined to make affiliate marketing work
for you it probably won't. You have to really want affiliate marketing to
work and be determined to do everything you have to do to get there!
Determination and corresponding goals are usually what separate those that
succeed with affiliate marketing from those that do not.

When you put all of these things together you will find that it is quite
simple to be a success at affiliate marketing. There is no doubt about it,
affiliate marketing does require some time, some work, and definitely a
determination to succeed but you can earn quite a bit of money if you put
your mind to it. Put all of these things together and you will watch as your
affiliate marketing business takes off right before your eyes!

How To Create Multiple Income Streams From Your Website

Creating multiple income streams from your website is a proven marketing
strategy. An effective strategy anyone can use to earn a part-time or
full-time online income. If you are not currently earning revenue from your
site, you could be leaving significant amounts of cash floating in
cyberspace.

Significant amounts of cash that can help pay your monthly
bills: your rent or mortgage, your car payments, your utility bills or even
your hosting costs. Many alert webmasters are doing just that by creating
multiple income streams from their site or sites.

Creating these multiple income streams is not a difficult task. Nor is it a
lengthy or time consuming one; monetizing your site can be done within a few
hours of work.

Here are some effective ways of creating multiple income
streams:

* 1. Affiliate Programs

Joining affiliate programs related to your site is an easy process. Placing
html code or java script on your site with your affiliate IDs embedded only
takes seconds. I find joining major affiliate networks like Commission
Junction, LinkShare, Amazon, ClickBank, Shareasale... to be the most
effective. You can quickly find and join affiliate programs related to your
site's topics.

Affiliate programs are excellent income producers, all you have to do is
supply the traffic or leads and the affiliate company does the selling,
shipping and handles all customer interactions. These programs pay on time
each month and there are no disputes about commissions. Amazon pays
quarterly!

* 2. Google Adsense

Perhaps one of the easiest way to monetize your site is through Google
Adsense. All you have to do is add a snippet of code to your site and Google
serves up ads to match your site's content. Getting those checks from Google
each month will put a smile on your face. Guaranteed!

* 3. Sponsored Links

Another simple way to earn revenue from your site is offering sponsored
links. Selling links to other sites who want to be listed on your site. Set
up a PayPal subscription service, and if your site has a high PR page rank
you will have plenty of webmasters more than willing to pay you each month.

* 4. Banner Advertising

A simple, direct way to earn revenue from your site is to host and sell
banner advertising on your site. Bit traditional but still a money producer
for high traffic volume sites.

* 5. List Building

Building an opt-in list of contacts interested in the topic of your site can
be one of your most effective income producers. Many webmasters and
marketers use followup e-mails to keep in contact with their site's
visitors. This does require some work and set-up time, but once you have
your autoresponders in place, you can forget about them.

In addition, marketing special deals, joint ventures and offers to your
permission based email contact list can be another lucrative income stream
for you. That's just five ways to create multiple income streams from your
site.
There are many, many more but these are good starting points for any
webmaster who wants to monetize their site or sites.

* Additional Marketing Tip

Here's my #1 marketing strategy on how to increase your number of income
streams:

I use the Long Tail keyword marketing model to create high ranked keyword
listings in organic search for profitable keyword phrases on the topics of
my sites. First, I use a keyword research tool like Brad Callen's Keyword
Elite or an online site Yahoo's Overture to find profitable keyword phrases
for my sites.

These tools will tell you how many searches are made each month for a given
keyword phrase and also tell you how much marketers are willing to pay for
each click to this keyword phrase - as in PPC or Pay Per Click advertising.

The trick is to find low to mid-range keywords or keywords phrases that are
profitable but have little competition.
Then design a content page on your site to target these keyword phrases and
draw in traffic. I use keyword targeted articles which I place on my site
and also submit to online article directories like Ezinearticles,
Goarticles, Articlealley, among others.

In the resource box at the end of each article, I place my keyword anchor
text and links back to my site. As these are competitively low ranked
keywords, my content pages usually land on the top positions in the search
engines for my targeted keywords within a week or so.

This is a simple effective marketing strategy that feeds targeted traffic
into my sites, making them more profitable with each keyword phrase I
develop content for on my sites.
It is an online marketing strategy that you can also use to booster your
multiple income streams from your own website.

Granted, all the above information comes with a disclaimer, the amount of
income will usually correlate to how effective you are at marketing your
site and how much traffic you can generate. Your different abilities will
play a large role in how much you will earn. However, there is no reason why
any healthy site getting a decent amount of traffic can't be used to create
multiple streams of income. Just cash in!

Avoiding "overload" When Working From Home

When you make the decision to work from home, several things may cross your
mind: Will I be able to find work? Will I be able to keep the kids busy and
quiet while I work? Will I be able to get it all done? Many people love the
flexibility of working from home, but often forget the one drawback: leaving
the work at the office when you get home.

Often, people don't get started working at home the correct way, and end up
spending more time "fixing things", instead of working. This can get
stressful, and then people give up instead of working through it. Get
organized from the beginning, using a calendar, lists, and set up a filling
system that works for you.

If you're doing freelance work, start out with a couple clients and develop
your best routine that works for you within their deadlines. If you get to
set the deadline, always build in a cushion. If you can get something done
in two days, tell them you will have it done in three, just in case
something comes up (which quite often does). This gives you some breathing
room and makes you look better when you get things done sooner, instead of
always asking for an extension.

Keeping track of your assignments is not only professional, it's crucial.
Develop a database that helps you keep track of the important information
such as:

. Client's name
. Address
. Phone numbers/fax
. E-mail address
. Project
. Assigned/accepted date
. Due date
. Date completed
. Notes

There are many wonderful freeware organizational software programs out there
that can keep your stress level down.

Having all this information will help you keep forgetting the important
deadlines and will also help you keep from over committing yourself. It's so
easy to just get in the habit of saying, "Yes, I can do that" when you need
the business, but it's just as important to know when you should say, "No,
but maybe I can do that for you next week? Is that possible?" Many times,
the client can be flexible, especially if you've been reliable in the past.

Don't forget the most important way to avoid overload and burn
out: Play time. Allow yourself to take breaks during the day, spend time
playing with your kids or even dinner out with your spouse. Enjoy a nice hot
cup of coffee or tea and curl up with a good book. You'll be amazed at how
much more productive you will be after the break.

Can You Really Get Rich Quick Through Internet Marketing Schemes?

You have seen the ads just about everywhere. If you sign up for such and
such a program you can make thousands of dollars each week, or month.
Perhaps you already have signed up for one of these programs, or, at least
get their emails on a regular basis. Here are some things you need to know
about the offers that you see plastered all over the Internet.

Focus On Work At Home Jobs

Just about all of these ads focus on getting away from your day job and
firing your boss - something that most working people would like to do. So,
there is the hook. It promises something that appeals to most. Then, it
offers the opportunity to work from home, even in your pajamas if you want,
and make tons of money.

Is This Reality?

If it were true, then why are there so many opportunities? And why do the
same Internet marketers always need to keep coming out with new products? If
a product works, and can make everyone who applies thousands of dollars each
month, in some cases the claim is tens of thousands of dollars, then why do
you need more products, or why is there a rush for everyone to make their
own products? The obvious answer is because it's not as easy as it is
claimed.

What Are The Statistics?

Overall numbers generally indicate that most people who sign onto some
Internet marketing program and give it some effort fail. Some say that this
number is way above 90%. This means one thing - these programs are not all
that they claim to be.
While there are many who do make money through some of these programs, they
apparently are definitely in the minority.

Are There Real Work At Home Jobs?

Glad to say it - the answer is yes. They may not be so easy to find, though.
One way to limit your possibility of being sucked into some scam or scheme,
is to first do some research. The more you know the better off you will be
in being able to avoid those ads that are real wastes of time.

How Can I Tell The Difference?

One simple way to avoid scams is by learning not to believe every ad that
sounds good. Evaluate it, decide for yourself if it sounds too good to be
true. If it does, it is most likely a scam. You should never have to pay
anything to work. While ads promise you can work at home as a (whatever),
you should find out if they are actually connected to employers, or if they
are only selling you information. You can also call them and talk to them
about it. If there is no phone number - you can guess why.

Finally, you can search the Internet and find reports about many real
companies. Just type their names in and do a search - see what comes up.
Scams will often be reported by somebody out there - by someone who was
ripped off by the same people just before you were. Real job companies, on
the other hand, will be glad to talk to you and answer your questions, and
may even let you talk to someone else who is working for them doing the same
thing.

Is God Part of Your Marketing Strategy? Part 1

Is God Part of Your Marketing Strategy? Part 1 Is this a stupid question?
Absolutely not, the reason God MUST become part of your business is widely
apparent, but
not always practiced by new business owners. The fact
that God is key to your success as a business owner can be demonstrated by
revealing the fact that the vast majority of successful entrepreneurs'
business success is linked to their individual beliefs in God. When I got
started marketing on the Internet, God was not part of my business and did
not play a large part in my life either. Not surprisingly I struggled and
nearly quit my home based business. I was in business to get rich, not to
help people. However, since then, as I have pursued and become more
successful in various high income business opportunities, God has become
more and more prevalent in my work and life. In my relationships with
highly successful Internet business owners (my personal mentors) a common
thread has become apparent that each of these individuals, without
exception, has an unshakable belief in God. Why is this? What is it that
makes these highly successful people believe in God and how can your own
beliefs help you become successful in business and life too? What role does
God play to help you become successful running your own business? I'd like
to explore this common thread and give you some easily applicable techniques
to integrate faith into your business strategy without being bombastic or
fanatical.

Why would you want to integrate God into your business strategy anyway?
It's simple. Success only truly comes when you work from your soul. William
Blake, the English poet and artist says, "I myself do nothing. The Holy
Spirit accomplishes all through me." If you can begin to see your personal
creativity as God's voice speaking through you, you will be a giant step
closer to seeing your business explode. If you can train yourself to
organize your business and spark creative ideas for your business through
the conception of God prodding you on and driving you toward loftier goals
and accomplishments than you ever dreamed possible. This has been called
many things including "divine purpose." The poet Dylan Thomas provides an
excellent definition of "divine purpose" that we can use, "the force that
through the green fuse drives the flower." Do you think the flower has any
concept of what it's ultimate goal in life is? Do you? Does the flower
stop growing just because it doesn't have the perfect amount of water or
sunlight? Are you going to stop pursuing your purpose just because you are
struggling in your business or your life? If you are not pursuing your true
aspirations of being a highly successful business owner, or you are a
business owner who is constantly searching for a new EASY way to make money
on the Internet, you are NOT listening to God or your "ultimate purpose."
BUSINESS SUCCESS IS NOT EASY. You must use your common sense here. Why do
you think 98% of home businesses never make one red cent? Because they are
marketing the wrong product? No! If you are marketing your business the
right way you can sell sand to a camel and have hundreds of customers lining
up to buy again and again. Home based business owners fail because they
don't receive the right training and mentorship to run a highly successful
business, they lose their commitment and they quit. The keys to your
business success are:

1. Integrate God Into Your Business Strategy.

2. Find a Support System. Seek Out Mentors and Colleagues Who Encourage
and Support You to Achieve Your Goals. Find People Who Have Attained a
Level of Success that You Hope To Replicate and Model Your Business Strategy
After Theirs.

3. Stay Motivated and Committed to Your "Divine Purpose" in Business.

The formula to success is simple and intuitive when you break it down. If
you can turn your business over to God's proven desire to see you succeed
and can trust in a higher power to guide you along your path to business
success, you will have hurdled the biggest obstacle that most new business
owners face: the temptation to quit their business when confronted by
difficulties, setbacks (i.e. lack of results). If you can simply believe in
your "divine purpose" your business is no longer yours to quit, it is God's;
you have been put in charge of your business not simply by and for your
self, but to fulfill the will of God's plan for you and desire to see you
succeed. If you can begin to feel God in your everyday business activities,
hardships will never cause you to doubt your ultimate goal, setbacks will
only strengthen your resolve, and small successes will only prod you to
achieve more.

Entrepreneurs are a different sort of folk. Though they tend to be driven
and skilled workers, entrepreneurs don't tend to make the best employees
because they are constantly looking for better ways to do things and solve
the problems presented to them by their jobs. Translate your feelings of
dissatisfaction in your job to a mind-set that God is telling you that there
are bigger plans for you. More on God's role in your business strategy in
next weeks article.
Let me leave you with a quote from The Work of The
Chariot: "When a Man Takes One Step Toward God. God Takes More Steps Toward
That Man Than There Are Sands in the World's of Time." Take that step in
your business strategy this week and see how your life changes.

5 Easy and Effective Holiday Marketing Ideas for Your Business

5 Easy and Effective Holiday Marketing Ideas for Your Business Copyright (c)
2006 Alicia M Forest and ClientAbundance.com

It seems that, at least in the US, the holiday season starts earlier and
earlier, with Christmas cards taking over most of the card section of any
store right after Halloween (if not before!).

And while it bugs me to hear holiday music over the store speakers while I'm
shopping for my daughter's Halloween costume (because by the time Santa does
visit, I'm quite tired of dreaming of a "White Christmas"), as far as
planning on how to market for and during the holiday season for my business,
it's almost never too early.

One of the mantras of Client Abundance is "Giver's Get," in the sense that
you are giving from a place of having no expectation of getting anything in
return.

What follows are 5 ways that you can give in your business, feel really good
about it, and reap the rewards from the Universe.

1. Thank your clients and customers.

An obvious one to do around Thanksgiving is to show your gratitude to your
current clients and customers for their business. But you might be surprised
at how few business owners actually take the time to do this.

It could be something as simple as expressing your thanks in a short email.
Or you could send a thank you card in the mail. Or you could take it a step
further and do what I'm doing this year - sending a postcard expressing my
gratitude with a link to a special - and fr*e - gift to my VIP clients and
customers.

Taking the time to say thank you goes a long way towards deepening that
all-important relationship with your current clients and customers. If you
do nothing else this holiday season, at least do this.

2. Give your ezine list a gift.

Your 'pot of gold' in your business in your email list of potential clients
and customers. You should always be treating them well, but at least once a
year, offer them a gift - no strings attached - just because...

This year, I'll be offering my second annual 12 Days of Christmas series to
my ezine subscribers, where they will receive something of value that will
benefit them in building their business once a day for the 12 days leading
up to Christmas. This was a huge hit last year, and it was a blast for me to
come up with something new each day.

You don't have to offer 12 gifts, however. Just one will do very nicely as
well.

3. Give a holiday coupon.

As a gift to your list as well as to give you a boost in your income, why
not offer a coupon towards one or more of your offerings. You could offer a
2-for-1 coaching session, or a 20% off discount for one of your ebooks or
ecourses, or you could offer a special price for the month of December only
on one of your programs.

4. Give your affiliates a gift.

Your affiliates are also one of your greatest assets in your business. Show
your gratitude to the folks who have chosen to join your 'sales force' by
increasing their commissions for the holiday season.

Ideally, your commission rate should be at least 25%. Why not reward them
further for promoting your offerings by doubling their commissions to 50%?

5. Give yourself a gift.

And don't forget yourself! If you haven't already, hire a virtual assistant
to help you now so you can enjoy more of your holidays. You'll be so glad
you did and you'll never go back to being a lone ranger!

I'd like to invite you to choose at least two of these ways of giving in
your business to implement this holiday season.

Using Bonuses To Increase Your Internet Marketing Sales

When marketing affiliate products over the ,
you're often competing directly with a lot of other affiliates.
Often you are reaching the SAME prospects. In order to
standout from the crowd, you need to make your promotions
different. One easy way to do this is by offering your own
unique bonuses.

Before offering a bonus to those who purchase affiliate
products through you, confirm that this won't violate the terms
of service of the affiliate program. Also confirm that it
doesn't violate the terms of service of the third party
transaction processor.

When considering what to offer as a bonus, make it something
that has a high perceived value, but also has a low delivery
cost. Digital products work nicely here. These could be
digital products that you create or obtain the rights to. I
prefer creating my own bonuses because that makes sure that
they are truly unique.

Examples of inexpensive bonuses, with high perceived value that
you can offer are:

* MP3 Audio's Of Teleseminars Or Interviews
* PDF Special Reports Or Ebooks
* Access To Live Teleseminars On How To Use The Product
* Reprint Or Resale Rights To Products
* Private Label Rights To Products
* Audio CD's
* DVD's

The last two bonuses above also facilitate you building a
physical mailing list at the same time. As an "Internet
marketer"
you should use a variety of tools including direct mail. To do
this, you need physical mailing addresses too.

Your bonuses should make sense based upon the primary product
that you are marketing. They should be related to the primary
product, or something that a person interested in the primary
product would appreciate.

Your bonuses should also have an appropriate value based upon
the price of the primary product. If you're marketing a $17
ebook, but offering $5000 in bonuses to purchasers, you lose
credibility. There's just too much of a psychological
disconnect in the minds of your prospects... unless you have
a very good reason that you also explain to them.

If you market bigger ticket items, you can offer bigger bonuses
with great impact. However, the bonuses must still make sense.
Here are several example that I've used recently and encourage
you to check out and model:

1) For a live seminar to be held in Orlando, Florida the
second weekend of November, I offered to create a product
with my customers. The workshop focuses on stepping beginners
through building world-class businesses. Since all beginners
need a product, this bonus makes perfect sense.

To create this product, I will gather my customers in my hotel
suite after-hours, we will go over tons of proven and tested
low or no cost traffic generation methods. I'll record the
session, have it transcribed, and we'll have a product that
all participants can sell as their own and keep 100% of the
proceeds. I even plan on setting up the website and order
processing system...so I'm essentially putting them in
business.

This bonus makes perfect sense, will allow my customers to
easily recoup the very low cost of the workshop, and only
costs me a few hours of my time. While creating the product,
I'll also be solidifying relationships with my clients.

If you'd like to join in on that bonus, you can by signing up
for the Workshop (if it's not too late) at:
http://NoHypeInternetMarketing.com/thea/
<http://nohypeinternetmarketing.com/thea/>

2) For customers who purchased Ewen Chia's Super Affiliate
Cloner Program (no longer on the market), I offered membership
in a live mastermind group. I facilitate this bi-weekly
mastermind meeting that focuses exclusively on effectively
marketing affiliate products. The mastermind will run for a
year.

This bonus will cost me 26 hours of my time, but at the same
time allows me to do some networking, and to develop
relationships with some serious affiliate marketers. This
also presents me with a ready pool of very well trained
affiliates when I have a product that I want help rolling
out :-)

3) For the launch of Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula, I
offered a set of DVD's and a few other bonuses that didn't
cost
much to deliver. The DVD's did cost more than a digital
product, but also facilitated building my database. I added
people to my database that have a proven willingness to invest
$997 in a product that will help them to build their business.

With Jeff Walker's launch which was for the product at:
http://P-L-Formula.com <http://p-l-formula.com/> I actually
created a video, and
uploaded it at http://video.google.com <http://video.google.com/>
You can go there and
enter the search term "internet marketing titans" to actually
locate and watch that short video. That video worked
extremely well, and still produces sales today.

I do offer bonuses with many of the products that I market. It
IS a very effective technique when used properly. A big point
to keep in mind is that the value of the bonus is "in the eyes
of the beholder."

Offer bonuses that your prospect will want and that they will
use. Offer bonuses that your prospects would happily pay for as
stand-alone products if they could not get them as bonuses.

Incorporate the use of bonuses into your affiliate marketing mix
today. The results could really astound you :-)
